Note to Pastors and Sessions

In 2023, as I facilitated the pastoral search at Valley Springs Presbyterian, we noticed how The RightPath® assessment instruments maximize the efficacy of the hiring process. At Valley Springs, I coached the team in developing a well constructed process using the instrument alongside other sources. I set up each prospective candidate to take the assessment, then team members and I conducted a concise debrief with them, and finally we formulated accurate behavioral interview questions for subsequent panel interviews and reference checks. As we interacted with potential candidates each one expressed appreciation for our process. This powerful tool has aided in discerning the fit of the man for the priorities and qualities of a lead pastor for a particular church at a particular time.

We’ve often asked for prayer that God would lead us: to connect with those of his choosing, to offer what he’s taught us, and to cultivate in them good hope for the health of their congregations.
