A Chance to Grow

In April this year Karen and I took a group of friends from church and Provisions Group on a river cruise on the Danube. This was the second time we’ve organized a river cruise, the first was in 2018 on the Rhine River, following a Reformation theme soon after the 500th Anniversary of Luther’s posting of his 95 Theses.

We’ve found these occasions to be so delightful, so valuable, that we are doing it again in October 2024—this time in France on the Rhone River.

On these adventures our aim is to understand that all of life, and the whole world, is the domain of God’s classroom.

Even when we travel, taking a break from everyday routines and work, we should be in a place of learning, growth, and restoration. In fact we would argue that being out of our normal role and crossing boundaries into the unfamiliar is a powerful combination in which to learn.

Consider this an open invitation to join us next year. If you’re interested email me, and I will get details to you. We encourage you to check out this description.

Of special interest for church board members and leadership couples: We are also developing plans to create a retreat in the New Year to walk through the RightPath® instruments in a Christ-centered context.

When we take a pastoral couple or a cohort away to a place of beauty and rest, we combine structure and directed reflection along with unstructured space and time to simply be—to be with the Lord and each other in unhurried conversation and community around a lovingly prepared table each day.

This retreat will equip you to be a more effective leader or team member, offer you a taste of how we help pastors and teams, and give you new insights into yourself, your spouse and your teammates. If you would like to know more, please contact Shaynor, Karen, or me.
